Long Distance Education


The Direction of Long Distance Education – DEAD – is in charge of managing, supervising, advising, coordinating, assisting and implementing administrative and pedagogic actions for Long Distance Education Courses at IFTM according to section V, subsection V of IFTM´s General Regulations. It is located at Univerdecidade Technological Park on 131, Doutor Florestan Fernandes Avenue, zip code: 38064-190, in Uberaba, Minas Gerais, Brazil.

The Director of Long Distance Education also coordinates all the administrative and pedagogic aspects related to over 4,000 students who are enrolled in 11 Long Distance Education courses: 3 Teaching courses, 7 Professional courses and 1 Lato Sensu degree course, in 24 centers in various cities attending programs of the Federal government as e-Tec Brasil network and Open University of Brazil (UAB).

Courses

IFTM provides courses in its various campi at different levels both in regular and long distance offers: High school, Technical and Professional (integrated to high school curriculum, non-integrated and after high school), Undergraduate (Teaching, Technology and Bachelor’s degree), Lato Sensu and Strictu Sensu degree.

High school courses emphasize ethical formation, environmental awareness, intelectual development, critical thinking, and human-being growth.

Technical and Professional courses aim to provide a professional certification for both students who have finished Elementary school or those who have already finished High School.

Undergraduate courses prepare students through a theoretical and practical basis providing students thorough formation offering classes mediated by technologies, reflecting an updated professional prepared for the job market.

Postgraduate courses aim improvement and upgrading in the professional area in order to enable students to broaden, qualify and develop knowledge and abilities related to techniques and scientific production.
